VINE
SOIL: Chateau Léoube’s position overlooking the Mediterranean means that its fruity red wine have a freshness and briskness not always associated with the wines of the south of France. A mixture of schist and clay characterize Château Léoube soils. The proximity of the sea, the daily sea breeze and cool nights are all factors that provide an ideal climate for growing grapes. A particular situation that contributes to making wine out of common.

CELLAR
WINEMAKING: To obtain a perfect sorting, harvesting is manual only. The grapes are transported directly to the winery where they are placed immediately in temperature controlled vats. The fermentation is carried in stainless steel tanks with 9 days skin contact then natural alcoholic fermentation and full malolactic fermentation in stainless steel. Its ageing and conservation is happening in concrete and oak tanks for 12 months minimum.
AGEING POTENTIAL: 5 to 6 years
SERVE
TASTING: This is a beautiful spicy, fruity red wine with notes of blackberry, pepper and cinnamon – all characters typically found in Syrah, the grape variety that dominates the blend. Juicy and moreish, it is now drinking well and would be a good match for lighter meat dishes, both hot and cold.
