TERROIR: A blend of schist and clay characterizes the soils of Château Léoube. In addition, the proximity to the sea, the daily sea breeze, and the cool nights provide an ideal climate for vine growing. This unique setting contributes to the production of a distinctive great red wine.
GRAPE VARIETIES: Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon
TASTING: The nose of this vintage fine red wine is intense, with black fruit aromas followed by red fruit, before giving way to spicy notes. The palate is silky and dense, distinguished by its balance as well as its smooth texture and maturity. A powerful and precise structure leads to a long and full finish.
SERVING TEMPERATURE: 18 °C, decanted
FOOD PAIRING: Ideal with flavorful meats, game, characterful charcuterie, and chocolate desserts.
FORMATS: 75cl and 150cl
WINEMAKING: The harvest, carried out exclusively by hand, takes place at very precise dates to achieve the best balance between tannins, alcohol, and acidity. The grapes then undergo extended maceration to promote gentle tannin extraction through regular pump-overs. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation in large oak casks and demi-muids, in which the wines are aged for 16 months. This vintage French red wine then continues its maturation in bottle.
AGING POTENTIAL: 10 years and more
